The weather was nice on Monday so we were able to get our planting done in the courtyard. Several residents were on hand to help. We also had newscurrents in the morning, played cards and then enjoyed lemonade on our newly decorated patio. Tuesday there was Sit & Be Fit in the morning and then Margaret Gunderson’s daughters were here to make greeting cards with our residents. It was a fun craft time! Nancy played for Name that Tune on Wednesday morning and Mary and the gang presented a quilt show finale in the chapel. What beautiful quilts they displayed and also told the history of each one. Thanks again to Mary and the ladies who are part of her “gang” ! we hope they will be back again in the fall. The residents went to Dollar General on Thursday for retail therapy. We also had reading, pretty nails and bingo. Friday brought mass and church in the morning and then the American Legion/VFW were here for Money Bingo in the afternoon. That is always a popular event!

On Monday, Memorial Day, there will be newscurrents in the morning and a Memorial Day tribute in the afternoon. We have asked residents and staff to write down “What does Memorial Day mean to you” Their stories will be read at our Memorial Day tribute. We also have bingo in the evening. Tuesday after Sit & Be Fit it’s time for the Auxiliary Birthday Party to celebrate May birthdays. Valley Free Church will be our hostess. Wednesday brings Choir in the morning with Nancy and crafts in the afternoon with Molly. The residents will be making cute 3-D kitten pictures. We will be playing a bean bag toss on Thursday morning and then ordering dinner out from the Dakota Boys restaurant. Afterward the residents will be going on a sightseeing van trip and then spending time on our patio. There is mass and church on Friday morning followed by a picnic then pretty nail and happy ½ hour.
