Greetings from "The Home" front...
Happy New Year! Let’s hope that 2021 is better for everyone!
We started out the last week of the year with Trivia on Sunday. The residents learned some interesting “fun facts” about the Artic Circle, Sunflowers, and the Number 13. After all the holiday goodies, it was time for Sit & Be Fit on Monday morning and then we had popcorn in the afternoon. There was newscurrents on Tuesday followed by pretty nails. Molly was here for crafts on Wednesday. The crafty residents decorated wooden blocks and put their initial on them – the block makes a cute room decoration. Nancy played for rhythm band in the morning. On Thursday – New Year’s Eve – the residents enjoyed Happy ½ hour with special treats while listening to music by Tim Mosher via zoom, and then played bingo in the evening. We played Junk Drawer Detective on Friday and talked about Ringing in the New Year. Saturday started with Sit & Be Fit and then 5-Square in the afternoon.
Next week we have Sit & Be Fit, then newscurrents on Tuesday along with Rhythm Band in the afternoon. Wednesday brings Choir in the morning and Building a Snowman in the afternoon. Pastor Deb leads Bible Study on Thursday and later on the ladies with get their nails done. There is Virtual Mass and Church on Friday morning and Happy ½ in the afternoon.
A thank you goes out to 3-year-old Tyler Eliason who made and colored Christmas ornaments for our residents to enjoy. The ornaments are just darling and Tyler did a great job of coloring. Again thank you to all who delivered treats for the staff this holiday season, it was appreciated.
We have one resident birthday next week – Barbara Hettervig on January 9th. There are four staff member birthdays – Kim Cantore on January 4th, Adam Edwards on January 5th, Tasha Caswell on January 7th and Katherine Pruneda on January 9th. Happy Birthday to all of you and enjoy your special day!
We are anxiously awaiting the Covid-19 vaccine and hope to have it here very soon.
Until next time … a thought for the week … Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out …
