Greetings from “The Home” front …

Even though LMH is currently closed for in room visitations, the activity room and dining room have been filled with residents – it is so nice to see everyone together again! Yes, we are still observing Covid protocol by wearing masks.
On Monday we had a Patriotic reminisce during Down Memory Lane and in the afternoon several ladies got together for breadmaking. There was also a well-attended Resident Council meeting and even better attendance at our evening Bingo game. Tuesday brought Newscurrents in the morning and Rhythm Band in the afternoon. Nancy played the piano for Name that Tune and the crafty ladies (and men) made a “Thinking of You” greeting card later on. Activity staff also went personal shopping for residents at Miller’s and Dollar General. We had a very special Veteran’s Day program in honor of our veterans on Thursday afternoon. In the morning Andrea read the history of Veteran’s Day and its significance. The LMH veterans also received a hand-crafted card from the activities staff thanking them for their service. We would like to acknowledge the following LMH residents that served in the military: Roger Anderson, Terry Anderson, William Bird, Clyde Cooper, Daryell Ferguson, Ron Hanson, Dr. Delbert Hlavinka, Laurel Jorgensen, Kenard Knudson, Neil MacFarlane, Gary Nickel, Duane Malley, Kim Plank, Mary Robinette, Robert Robinson, Ralph Rucinski, Richard Snortland, Roger Syvertsen, Truman Thykeson, Hadley Verwest, Vernon Willeson, and Jerry Wright. Pastor Deb was here for Church on Friday morning and the ladies got their nails done at Pretty Nails in the afternoon. Saturday brings Coffee Time, Sit & Be Fit, Bingo and a “Peak” experience reading.
Next week, after Coffee Time, we start out with the Arm Chair Detective looking for Festive Fixings. This is similar to the “I Spy” game we all remember playing. During Kitchen Capers in the afternoon the residents will be making a Blessing Mix. Later on, we will discover the places everyone has been on our World Travel Map plus there is Bingo in the evening. Tuesday brings Newscurrents and Rhythm Band plus my favorite game Bunco! On Wednesday Nancy plays for Choir and there will be crafts in the afternoon plus shopping for residents. Pastor Deb leads Bible Study Thursday morning, followed by Pretty Nails and later on the Bell Choir will perform. There is also Bingo in the evening. Pastor Deb is back for morning Church Service on Friday and we celebrate TGIF with Happy ½ hour in the afternoon.
The entire LMH staff are also having some fun with Turkey Bingo planned for next week and a Potato Bar scheduled in the break room on November 23rd.
Our sympathy to the friends and family of LeRoy Schroeder who passed away November 7th. LeRoy was with us briefly but enjoyed doing his daily Suduko, hearing devotions, visiting his family and watching TV. Rest in Peace, LeRoy.
We have several resident birthdays next week: Rich Daucsavage on November 18th, Gary Radloff on November 20th, and Neil MacFarlane on November 21st. Only two Staff member celebrating birthdays next week and both on November 20th – Amanda Landa and Jessica Serr. Happy Birthday to all of you and enjoy your special day!!!
Until next time … a thought for the week … Every job is a self portrait of the person who does it. Autograph your work with excellence …
