Greetings from “The Home” front …
It was nice to see so many friends and family visiting our residents this week. I saw several people out on the patio not only enjoying the weather but catching up with old friends and family members. Our residents always enjoy visits so please stop by often.
Molly was here on Sunday afternoon to play crosswords. We have several residents who do the crosswords in the newspaper and also crossword books to keep their minds sharp. We had a good turnout on Sunday. There was Noodle Ball Monday morning – what a fun way to start out the day with lots of laughter and giggling. The van went out for another sightseeing trip to Hatton and admire the beautiful flowers and yards in town. Afterward there was a Resident Council meeting and Bingo in the evening. Tuesday brought Newscurrents and a special Birthday Party to celebrate Andrew Berg’s 100th Birthday. Happy Birthday Andrew!! There was Bunco on Wednesday followed by Crafts in the afternoon and then staff went shopping for the residents. Pastor Deb was back from vacation for Bible Study on Thursday morning and the ladies got their nails done at Pretty Nails in the afternoon. We also had Ice Tea on the Patio and Bingo in the evening. A special thank you goes out to Chris Larson who led a worship service in the chapel last week while Pastor Deb was away. Good Job Chris – we appreciate your being here! Friday there was church in the chapel and many enjoyed a picnic in our picnic shelter for dinner. There was Happy ½ hour on Friday afternoon. Saturday brings Sit & Be Fit, Bingo and a 3 p.m. Movie Matinee. Another special thank you goes out to resident Robert Robinson who volunteers his time to call Bingo numbers.
Next week we have Adult Coloring on Monday followed by Root beer Floats (yum!) and BBQ Detective. These Detective games help our residents maintain cognitive skills, promote attention to detail and have better focus. There is also Bingo in the evening. Tuesday brings Newscurrents in the morning, followed by Rhythm Band and Backyard Detective. We had MadLibs on Wednesday and Pretty Nails. The staff will also be going shopping for residents. The Summer Olympics begin on Thursday and we will have a discussion about them. There is special music in the afternoon by Tim Mosser. He always puts on a good performance!! We are looking forward to hearing him play!! There is also Bingo in the evening. Pastor Deb leads church on Friday morning and we are SO EXCITED to have the American Legion/VFW back to play $$$ Bingo with us on Friday afternoon. It has been such a LONG LONG time since they have been able to join us. Welcome Back!!!
