Greetings from "The Home" front...

WOW! The end to another busy week here at LMH! We started the week with Word Games on Sunday afternoon.  The residents finished song lyrics, movie and book titles to help keep their brains in gear.  Monday was the first day of Spring (really! REALLY????) – someone forgot to tell Mother Nature about that!  There were more Word Games in the morning when we played GOATS Categories followed by a Springtime Reminisce and then Bingo in the evening.  We heard the Newscurrents on Tuesday and played Jeopardy later in the day. On Wednesday we reminisced in the morning and the ladies got their nails done during Pretty Nails.  While ChiChi was shopping for the residents, our crafters made a Spring door hanging for their room doors.  Pastor Deb was here for Bible Study on Thursday morning and we enjoyed music by Steve Worner in the afternoon.  He puts on a good performance and we always enjoy it when he comes to play for us. Pastor Deb was back for Church on Friday morning and then the American Legion/VFW came to play $$$ Bingo with our residents.  We always get a big turnout when they are here!  We are so fortunate to have people in the community willing to come and spend time with us.  On Saturday there is Sit & Be Fit plus Bingo and Farm JINGO.

Molly will be here on Sunday to play 5 Square. We will listen to Short Stories on Monday morning followed by Bunco and Trivia.  And, of course, Bingo in the evening.  There is Newscurrents Tuesday morning followed by Kitchen Capers in the afternoon. Lysa and ChiChi will make Fried Banana Rolls.  It is always fun to sample their tasty treats. We have Choir with Lysa Wednesday morning and during Crafts in the afternoon, the residents will make a door hanger using vintage Easter postcards. We have Down Memory Lane on Thursday followed by Pretty Nails and Noodle Ball. Plus, Bingo in the evening. Pastor Deb will lead Church on Friday morning and then Joe Schmidt stops by to sing and play his brand of music. Can hardly wait to hear him sing some of those old favorites. Can you believe it will be already be April when Saturday rolls around.  WOW only 268 more days until Christmas!!!

Our sympathy to the friends and family of Mike Hillebrand who passed away March 12. Mike was from the Aneta area and later the New Rockford area. He enjoyed listening to music, stories and visiting with family and staff. We were touched to be listed as Honorary Pallbearers at his funeral.  Rest in Peace Mike.

We are also saddened by the passing of Linda Ingebreitson on March 19th.  Linda enjoyed spending time outside, talking on the phone to her friends and family, in person visits, watching TV and playing on her iPad. She had an upbeat attitude and will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in Peace Linda.

Until next time …. A thought for the week … In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take, the relationships we were afraid to have and the decision we waited too long to make.  Don’t waste a single moment ….
