Greetings from "The Home" front...
A big welcome to the six residents who arrived at LMH in the middle of the night from Elim Care Center. We are glad you are here and are doing our best to help you through this tragedy. A BIG THANK YOU also goes out to our amazing staff who came in or stayed late to help organize rooms, find clothing and help our guest get settled. That’s called teamwork – great job!!!
We started Monday with Newscurrents in the morning and then we got a taste of Rommegrot when Lisa and Nancy made this famous Norwegian treat in the afternoon. There was also table top activities and bingo in the evening. After Sit & Be Fit on Tuesday it was time for the Auxiliary Birthday party hosted by LMH and the Auxiliary officers. There was musical entertainment by Leonard and Betty Wall and delicious desserts served. Nancy provided music for Name that Tune on Wednesday and then we had a rousing game of Bunco and Three of a Kind (a matching game). Elaine did reading on Thursday and Dan Lee was here in the afternoon for a musical event. Dan always puts on a lively show and the residents enjoy his style of music. After Mass and Church on Friday we had Pretty Nails and our famous Happy ½ hour. Saturday – February 1st already! We will have Reminisce in the morning and Bingo in the afternoon. There is also Kaffee Hus from 2-3:30 in the dining room on both Saturday and Sunday.
Monday brought Newscurrents in the morning and then Kitchen Cappers in the afternoon. The residents will be making a valentine parfait – I saw a picture of this treat and it looks delicious. We also have table top activities and bingo that night. It’s Sit & Be Fit and Rhythm Band on Tuesday. Nancy will lead Choir on Wednesday morning and in the afternoon we will be making heart shaped button pins – just in time for Valentine’s day. Pastor Deb will be here for Bible Study on Thursday and the Men’s Club will be playing black jack in the afternoon. We will also play a Valentine Word game and Bingo. Friday Feb 7th is National Wear Red Day – there is Mass and Church in the morning and Pretty nails and Happy ½ hour in the afternoon.
Sun Center resident Ernest Grotte has his birthday on February 6th. And three staff members are also celebrating birthdays – Susan Anderson on February 2nd, Shaunna Gienger on February 4th, and Bonnie Fisher on February 6th. Happy Birthday to all of you and enjoy your special day!!
Until next time … a thought for the week … Instead of beating yourself up when you’re down, rejoice in the fact that you have the power to pull yourself back up …
