Greetings from “The Home” front …
We had a FAB-BOO-LOUS Monday at our Halloween Party!!! Several staff and residents appeared in costumes to enjoy games, snacks and fun!! A special treat came later in the day when we were visited by so many children who stopped by to show off their costumes, visit with the residents and receive a candy treat. Thank you to the families who came to LMH with their children to trick or treat – you made our residents day!!
For the residents who survived our Halloween activities, we had Newscurrents on Tuesday morning followed by special music by Mark Ryan. Mark played the guitar and sang Remember When type music. The residents really enjoyed listening to his music. Thank you, Mark, for sharing your talent with us! On Wednesday there was Choir in the morning and then Craft Time with Molly and ChiChi. They did a fun Fall craft which everyone enjoyed making! Pastor Deb was here for Bible Study on Thursday morning, then the ladies got their nails done at Pretty Nails in the afternoon. We also played Bunco and had Bingo in the evening. Pastor Deb returned on Friday for Church with Communion. Then we celebrated TGIF with Happy ½ hour later in the day! Saturday brings Sit & Be Fit, Bingo and Sticker crafts.
Don’t forget to turn your clock back on Sunday!! We gain that hour we lost last spring!! ChiChi will be here on Sunday to sing Karaoke with our residents. We always get a good turnout for this event!!! There is Trivia on Monday morning and then we will be Remembering Tupperware as we learn about that staple of every 1960s/70s kitchen. Some pieces are actually quite collectable now!! Tuesday brings Newscurrents in the morning, followed by Kitchen Capers in the afternoon. Not sure what Lysa and ChiChi will be making but it is always good plus I always get to taste the leftovers! Lysa will play for Name That Tune on Wednesday morning and we will be doing a craft project in the afternoon. Staff will also be going shopping for our residents. We will learn about Veterans Day on Thursday; the ladies will get their nails done in the afternoon and then we will play 5 Square using the letters VALOR. There is Bingo in the evening. After Church on Friday, we will have a very special Veteran’s Day Program to honor our residents that served in the military.
A special thank you goes out to a “friend” who wishes to remain anonymous who created Halloween cards for each of our residents to enjoy. Many of the residents smiled when they read the greeting and appreciated being remember with a card.
We have three resident birthdays next week – Marion Knudson on November 7th, Robert Robinson on November 8th and Donna Olson on November 10th. Staff members celebrating birthdays include Sophie Kloster (Nov. 6), Mason Turpin (Nov. 7), Sheila Rustvang (Nov. 8), Linda Knudsvig (Nov 10), and Alayna Johnson (Nov 12). Happy Birthday to all of you and enjoy your special day!!!
Until next time … a thought for the week … In every day there are 1440 minutes. That means you have 1440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact on someone.
